Hey there everyone,

Couple of quick updates for you, plus we need extras for the filming of our next video clip!

Next Show:
Our next gig will be on Friday, February 18th at The Alley with Reverend Green and Last House on the Left. If you can't wait, catch Jodie playing a solo acoustic show this Saturday night, February 5th at The Waterloo Hotel.

Wanna star in our next filmclip?
We know it's been a long time coming since the last one, but we finally have a new EP on the horizon. We have chosen the first single and are now preparing the filmclip (once again with those excellent people from Harder Films, who did our "Usual Suspects" filmclip).

The shoot will take place on Saturday night, February 19th, so pencil the date in and if you're interested in making a cameo apperance, please email us back and we'll send you all the details (come along, it's been so long since we caught up). The setting will be a party atmosphere, so after the cameras stop rolling the party will definitely be continuing! Free booze for everyone! ...yes that's sure to work...

As always, please feel free to forward this email to anyone else you think won't delete it. Thanks!

Ta ta for now,

Hey everyone,

Well it's been a long time coming, but the final cut of our filmclip to Usual Suspects has now been distributed. You will be able to catch it mainly on music programs RAGE (ABC Network) and Channel[V] (PayTV) in the coming weeks. Unfortunately we are not given run-dates. However, playlists are also published on the RAGE website Friday afternoons for the show that weekend. We will let you know as we do, though you can always keep an eye out via the link below as well.

  • Photo Album updates

    1. We have uploaded some new photos from our last Alley and Zoo shows. You can check them out under The Zoo and The Alley sections of the Photo Album as usual.

LAST SHOW OF 2003: The Alley Bar, 11:00pm, Saturday, 20th December, 2 Frew St, Milton supported by The Dangermen and The Fables.

Hi everyone,

Just some festive season well wishes and a gentle reminder that we will be playing our final show for 2003 at The Alley this Saturday. Thanks must go to our good friends at Skinny's Music (http://www.skinnysmusic.com.au) who helped in a prize pack giveaway of semicolon goodies and a double pass for this show. Congratulations to the winner Sara Gaffney drawn last week.

Photos from recent shows will be up on the website soon. It was great to finish the year with shows down south. Thank you Melbourne for an excellent response, we might just make it back again as soon as possible. Thanks too to Mik, Rin, Matt and Emm for the roofs you put over our heads.

The highlight was definitely the final show at the packed Esplanade Hotel. The lowlight was getting screwed over by the Town Hall Hotel in North Melbourne who refused to honour what they had agreed to pay for the show.

As per usual more thoughts are in the Band Journal and the Discussion Board.

Finally, thanks to everyone who have continued to show us support this year. We've met so many wonderful people, so we're not even going to try and specify (you know who you are and what you've done).

Stay safe, see you at The Alley, have a great Xmas and we'll see you for more excitement in the new year!

NEXT SHOW: The Zoo, 8pm, Wednesday, 19th November, 711 Ann St, Fortitude Valley with Drive and The Hi-Waves.

Hey there everyone,

semicolon will be playing Live to Air on radio station 4ZZZ (102.1FM) this Saturday (Nov 15th) at 3pm, so hopefully you'll be able to tune in. Thanks heaps also to 4ZZZ and Nasty Studios. Our next show actually onstage will be next Wednesday at The Zoo (Nov 19th). As always, more details below...

It will be your last chance to catch us in Brisbane before we hit the road for a few shows in Melbourne/Geelong at the start of December.

We have also just completed a fun run (yes I meant that) of shows with New Zealand's Mightyscoop. These boys seriously rock and hopefully when we make it over to NZ we can return the favour in asking them to play some shows. Ta very much also to fellow brisband Amphibious and Byron Bay locals Chxsm. The final show at The Alley in Brisbane resulted in a ten-pin bowling showdown which we're sure semicolon won (despite protests and scorecard evidence to the contrary). Meh, they're such sore losers :)

It has also been the first few shows with Jodie. She has blended in perfectly and the new material written with her has had a very positive response. Things are looking good in the colon camp.

Anyway, that's enough brainwashing from us, you WILL make it to The Zoo next Wednesday, otherwise we expect you at the Melbourne shows....heh.

Ta ta,
semicolon

Greetings all,

New Zealand band Mighty Scoop will be touring Australia in the next few weeks and semicolon will be supporting them for their East Coast shows. Joining us will be our good friends Amphibious. We have a few new songs to show off (not to mention that new guitarist girl, heh), so we hope you can make one of the upcoming gigs (see below). Also coming up is a Live to Air performance on 4ZZZ.

In other news, we Colons have just gotten back from Band camp at a certain undisclosed Island out there. Admittedly there was no Alyson Hannigan (ahh Willow..) or flutes to be found, but much fun was still had by all. Jodie has written an entertaining summary of our weekend for her very first entry in the Band Journal and has been lurking on the Discussion Board so why not drop in and say a big hi and welcome to her?

  • Website Updates

    1. We have uploaded some reviews of our EP. You can check them out under the new CD Reviews section. - "so tell us what you really think..."

    2. Jodie's Bio is also now online in the Band Info section. You can check out all you need to know about her under the Jodie sub-section Members.

Hi everyone,

It is with great regret that semicolon must announce Amalia has recently decided to leave the band. Mals has been with us pretty much from the beginning, so she will be missed and everyone in the colon camp wish her all the best. No doubt you'll catch her in the crowd at a semicolon show.

With shows alongside New Zealand's MightyScoop and an Interstate Tour on the horizon, we now get the chance to welcome and announce our new guitarist/vocalist Jodie Lawlor. She has been rehearsing with us for a while now and has brought a fresh spark and dynamic to the new material we're writing, so we're very excited about having her on board. In short, she rocks.

Stay tuned for more adventures as we embark on a new era of The Colon.
